Questions a planner usually asks
Is the room ours? Yes. A private event is a full buyout for your agreed hours: no ticketed crowd, no walk-ins, no other party.
What does the minimum mean for our budget? A floor, not an invoice. Guests buy $2,400 in a $2,000 room, you owe nothing toward it. They buy $1,400, you cover the $600, plus tax and gratuity on it. An open bar usually meets it on its own.
Can we cap what the company spends? Yes, with the consumption tab. Or open bar for two hours, cash bar after.
Can we bring our own DJ, band or playlist? All three. Bring your own equipment or use the house setup. A playlist is a fine answer for a work night.
Vegetarians, vegans and allergies? Tell us on the form, which asks about allergies directly. The packages are a starting point, not a fixed list.
What happens after we submit? We check the date is free and reply in writing with acceptance or a question. Once we accept, a card goes on file and the date is booked. At Fabrika the 25% deposit is invoiced too.
Is anything charged up front? Not at Margolis or The Patio: the card on file is simply a hold to secure the booking, no deposit is due, and any shortfall is settled in person at the end. Fabrika takes a 25% deposit, $1,250 to $2,250 by day, credited in full to your final bill.
How long will you hold a date through our approvals? It is booked once we accept and your card is on file; until then it stays open. We won’t quietly sit on it or quietly sell it. Tell us your PO timeline and we’ll be honest about interest in that date.
Email the date, headcount & occasion: ruby@margolisphilly.com → Schedule a 15-minute call → Live calendar, all three rooms → Compare all three venues → Floor plans → Photo gallery →
Not a work event? Birthdays, engagements, album releases, fundraisers and private mixers run on the same rooms, forms and numbers: Margolis, The Patio, Fabrika.
